North Pole Breakfast 2012

Today I'm going to share with you my family's second annual North Pole Breakfast. This was a big year for our breakfast because, not only did I keep up with a tradition, but our Elf on the Shelf made his grand debut.
I planned our party for the day after Thanksgiving.
Each of my kids had a festive place setting complete with fill-in-the-blank letters to Santa and special gifts. The gifts this year included a book; a coloring book, crayon and sticker set; paint with water; socks and a rubber duck (one was Santa the other a reindeer). We also received family gifts of a new Christmas movie (Prep and Landing) and Christmas Book (Oh, What a Christmas).
I made another Magic Mailbox this year. Inside was a letter from Santa reminding the kids to be good and asking them to fill out their wish lists.
The letter also talked abut the special kisses we all received. The large candy cane kisses were from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. We then had eight brown kisses (chocolate chips) from the reindeer, one red kiss from Rudolph and three green kisses from the elves.
To eat we had Reindeer Hash (hash browns, eggs, ham and cheese in the crock pot),
Snowballs,
Santa Belly Parfaits (vanilla yogurt, strawberries, granola and sprinkles),
and Candy Cane Milk (if you leave a candy cane in milk they start to dissolve and turn the milk pink).
I also set up a hot chocolate bar. My kids had a blast with this.
To add some festive detail I made this banner. I wanted it to say "Believe" but I didn't have enough "E's"! So "Wonder" it is!!

I hope you enjoyed this look at my families North Pole Breakfast 2012!

Celebrate The Occasion - Thanksgiving (w/ 3 buttons)

This weeks challenge at CTO is to create a project with a Thanksgiving theme and three buttons. Before I show you my project I ask you to ignore the background and the fact that the bottle is almost gone! I forgot to take a picture before we indulged!

So here it is:
I used a Sizzix embossing folder on the brown layer which I then rubbed with my embossing ink pad and coated in antique gold embossing powder. The same powder was used with the CTMH "Thanks" stamp. My wine tag was then embellished with my required 3 buttons and some crinkle ribbon.

Come show us your Thanksgiving projects at Celebrate The Occasion.

Pause Dream Enjoy - Thank You Challenge

Happy Friday! Don't you just love Fridays?
Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges!

Ch#46: Thank You Projects
Create a THANK YOU Project.

For my project I made a stand-up pop-up card using this SplitcoastStampers tutorial.

I used the Close To My Heart Pemberly line to create my project. The stamp is also CTMH and I used black Zing powder to emboss it.

A little corn starch on the exposed back of the sticker takes all the stickiness away.

I used crinkle ribbon and resin flowers to embellish the front of the card.

Crafty Creations Challenges - No Flowers

This week Crafty Creations is challenging you to make a project WITHOUT flowers.

This was an easy challenge for me, I'm not much of a flower person. This layout features first day of school pictures of my daughter from last year. She was quite the model!

I used the Little Girl line by Echo Park along with October Afternoon buttons, American Crafts ribbon and jewels.

The mailbox and letters are Lawn Fawn's You've Got Mail and the plane is Lawn Fawn's Bon Voyage. The boarder is a Martha Stewart punch.
