For today's hop I made robot valentine's for my son's practice preschool class. I got the idea from, where else, Pinterest.

Red Carpet Studio - "Sparkle" Challenge

This week at Red Carpet Studio we're asking you to create a layout with a little bit of shimmer! Use pearls, rhinestones, glitter, glimmer mist . . . whatever you want to add a little sparkle to your layout.

I used the Victoria Gardens collection by Echo park along with a sketch by Kristine Davidson for My Scraps and More Sketches (sketch 10). It's hard to see in this picture but I added rhinestones to the green stickers in the corners.

Celebrate The Occasion - Thank You Challenge

This week at Celebrate The Occasion we want to see your Thank You projects!

I took this opportunity to play with my new Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I received the entire set for Christmas and I'm so excited about them!

My card measures 3"x6" and the front is watercolor paper. I first stamped my image (Close To My Heart) using archival ink. Distress markers are water reactive so you'll need to use a permanent ink that will not react with water. I then scribbled with Broken China on my craft sheet, using my water brush I picked up the ink and outlined my image. I used the same technique for the center and border using Mustard Seed.

My sentiment (Inkadinkadoo) is also stamped in archival ink. I used a Close To My Heart Sparkle to dot my i.

Celebrate The Occasion - Boy's Birthday

Welcome back to another challenge at Celebrate The Occasion, we hope you had a wonderful holiday! This week we're celebrating the boys and their birthdays.

Challenge: Boy's Birthday

I created a layout featuring my son's first birthday (I think I'm almost done scraping this event!). I used an ultra fine tip Sharpie to write all along the white mat what he got. I had so many pictures of him opening his gifts but didn't really want to scrap them all. Then I came across a layout where the lady used large bullet points to note what her son got. I used the idea in a more streamline way.

To create my watercolor splatter background I used Distress Markers in tumbled glass, broken china and pumice stone. I scribbled a fair amount of color onto my non-stick craft sheet, then using a very wet water brush, I flicked it against my finger creating the droplets.

I used Lawn Fawn's Bon Voyage stamp set for the clouds and a very old Hero Arts stamp for the Happy Birthday.

Red Carpet Studio - Anything Goes Layout Challenge

This week at Red Carpet Studio we're letting your creativity run wild with an ANYTHING GOES LAYOUT challenge. Simply create a layout and share it with us!

I dug deep into my stash of photos to come up with this birth layout.

I used my Gypsy and Cricut to cut out the title. The script is Gypsy Font and the serif is Cricut Classic Font. All of the chipboard and coordinating cuts come the Art Philosophy collection. I'll use the blank mat to fill in my son's details.

I created the cut-out star paper myself using the Martha Stewart Punch All Over The Page, Starry Sky punch. I got the punch for Christmas so this was my first time using it and I was surprised how easy and quick it was to create my paper.

If you are out lucky winner this week you'll win 10 sets of pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies!
