Celebrate The Occasion - Ice Cream

Our challenge for you this week is to create a project featuring ice cream! I made this shape card using the Cricut cartridge Doodlecharms and my gypsy.
I used ric rac and this tutorial by The Ribbon Retreat to make my cherry. The leaf is a cut from Gypsy Wanderings that I hid the detail cut and folded down the center. I added glossy accents and silver Martha Stewart glitter to the detail cuts of the ice cream.
I used a ruler and brown pen to add detail to my cone it's also inked and highlighted with chestnut chalk ink. My tag is cut from Art Philosophy and stamped with a Close To My Heart set. I atatched it to my card with a Maya Road tiny clothes pin.
I hope you enjoyed my project and stop by Celebrate The Occasion to see what the other design team ladies made and to join in our challenge!

Pause, Dream, Enjoy - Sports/Hobby Challenge

Challenge #30
Sports/Hobbies

This is another challenge where I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use as soon as I saw it. I love when that happens!
My husband is English so by default he likes soccer, or "football" if you want to go all British! So when the World Cup rolled around his step-mother sent over a full England uniform for our daughter. These pictures show her sporting her outfit and practicing her skills.
I used all Bella Blvd for this layout. The papers and die cut stickers are from the Making The Team collection and the alpha stickers are from two older lines, Sophisticates and Family Dynamics. I used the Sew Easy tool with the cross-stitch head to add a little detail to the corners with brown thread. I used Frayed Burlap distress ink to ink my edges.

Creative Cutter Room - Summer Time!!!

Hello and welcome to another challenge with Creative Cutter Room. We'd like to thank all of you that joined us for our last challenge. It was great seeing your super cute chicken projects. We hope you'll join us for our newest challenge.

Theme
Summer Time!!

Here is the layout I created using Doodlecharms (sun) and Mickey Font.
The only time my kids get popsicles is when they're swimming! This way the sticky mess is cleaned up right away, by them. I even ask them to blow bubbles in the pool to clean their faces! The only down side is that my daughter thinks she gets "ice cream" every time she puts her swim suit on!
The papers are Amy Tangerine Sketchbook and the felt embellishments are Basic Grey Woolies. All the papers are outlined in black to really help the bright colors pop.

We hope you will join us and Submit your new project for a chance to win a prize!

Open Wide Layout

Today I have a layout for you that I started for the Pause Dream Enjoy sunset challenge and finally finished!

Most of what you see here is Close To My Heart. My title is cut using Art Philosophy and my gypsy to stretch the letters.

I used Art Philosophy to cut the flourish. I also used the cart and my gypsy to weld together a boarder cut to make the frame. The heart is a CTMH chipboard piece colored with Lagoon ink.

I repeated the flourish and colored heart on this side of my title.

My bottom boarder is stamped in frayed burlap distress ink. I used Lawn Fawn's Happy Summer stamp set.

My banner is hand cut and stamped with a CTMH alpha stamp set. I also faux stitched each pennant.

I hope you all are having a great week!

Talk Time Tuesday - Creative Cutter Room

I have a few things that stay on my desk at all times. My Circut and my CCR exclusive bow maker are two of those things.

As if the bow maker wasn't handy enough on its own I've found another use for it. I also use it as a Gypsy stand!

The Gypsy fits perfectly in the groove that is designed to keep your pegs from rolling away. I love how this keeps both my Gypsy and the cord out of the way of my Cricut mat when it's cutting!

I adore my bow maker and I really do encourage you to go HERE and buy one of your own. It's only $8 and comes with a handy carrying case, perfect for bringing to crops.

Pause Dream Enjoy Jungle Challenge

Challenge #28
Jungle

When I saw this challenge I knew right away that I would make a layout featuring photos from Disney's Animal Kingdom. It's been almost a year since our family's Disney vacation and I've hardly scrapped any of the photos. So here is what I created using BoBunny's Zoology, Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge and sketch #202 from Nuts About Sketches.
All entries received by midnight Thursday July 19 will be eligible to win our sponsor prize. This week our wonderful DT sister

has generously provided a
Paula Deen paper crafting collection.
The winner will receive a 6x6 paper pad, tag book, 3D embellishments and flowers.

Creative Cutter Room - Chicks and Chickens

Thank you for joining us for our new challenge! We appreciate you playing along with us and hope you will join us for this next challenge!

Theme: Chick or Chicken!

Here is my project:
I used CTMH paper, stamps and embellishments. The title is cut at 1.25" from Kate's ABCs.
You can see a lot of the details I added here. The wood grain stamp is CTMH and I used Tea Dye distress ink. I added faux stitching around my photos and a pleated ribbon boarder. The wood buttons are colored with Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap and Tumbled Glass distress inks. I also crudely outlined my hexagon paper that loosely reminded me of chicken wire.
We hope you will join us and Submit your new project for a chance to win a prize!

Pause Dream Enjoy - Sunset Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! I have some fun news to share with you all. I made the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges DT!! If you've not heard of this fun challenge blog I invite you the check it out. Every week we have a new question/theme for you to base your project on. ALL crafts are welcome. You are not limited to only paper crafts. Fell free to knit something or create a 3D. Maybe you make jewelry or mixed media. Everything is welcome!

Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous online store
Cori is offering a $5 gift card to anyone WORLDWIDE

The randomly selected winner will be chosen from all the entries received before midnight Thursday, July 12.

This weeks question is:
When is the last time you watched a sunset?
Aren't the color just amazing?

Challenge: Create any project using sunset as your inspiration. Scrap some sunset pictures, create a sunset themed card, use the colors of a sunset to create you project; whatever inspires you!

This is what I created!
I have NEVER created anything like this before and to be honest it was kind of a screw-up-turned-art. I started out making the bursts/flowers using a hair dryer to melt crayons and blow the melted wax around. I ended up not really liking it so I went into the craft space to try and "fix" it. One wrong move after another lead me to use alcohol inks to try and cover the bits I didn't like. After dropping, dabbing and smearing I lived with it for a few days and decided I liked it!

Now it's your turn. How will our SUNSET theme inspire you? Be sure to stop by Pause Dream Enjoy and see what the rest of the DT created!
